He was born in the village Panchur of Garhwal district of UP.
He comes from a typical Rajput family.

There has been numerous instances in the last 10 years where both of them were at loggerheads.
A few years ago, Yogi Adityanath was involved in a controversy where a video surfaced online in which he said that if one Hindu girl is converted into Islam, he would make sure that 100 Islamic girls are converted into Hindu religion. He was arrested in the year 2007 for inciting the riots of Gorakhpur and his Hindu Yuva Vahini launched into a series of retaliations. Such was the tension that two coaches of Mumbai Gorakhpur Express were set ablaze on fire for demanding Adityanath’s release. A number of different criminal cases are pending against the new Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

He is a very good orator and can make the mob go awry with his intense and fierce speeches. He runs the Guru Gorakhnath Hospital where anyone can take its services by just paying a nominal fee of Rs 20. Besides, Yogi Adityanath runs a number of different schools in his native constituency where he provides free education to the underprivileged children.
